Can you get a big butt without exercising?

In our quick-fix, want-it-right-now world, it’s easy to be put off by things that seem like long, time-consuming investments. And when the whole world - or at least, your whole social media feed - appears to have a full, round bum (without spending much time in the gym) it’s normal to wonder: can you get a big bum without exercising?

can you get a big butt without exercise

The answer is of course: yes, but with several conditions. While there are situations and possibilities in which a bum can be achieved without exercise, at House of Peach we believe in the transformative power of consistent, regular exercise to transform your glutes and achieve the aesthetic you deserve.

However, we understand that some of our customers may not be physically able to go to the gym regularly. In this article, we’re going to explain how to get a big bum without exercising, but also offer our alternatives for using exercise as a transformative bum-building tool!

Can you get a big butt without exercising?

Not all bums are created by exercise. Especially today, as plastic surgery is relatively normalised in our online digital culture, it’s pretty banal to have a round, plump bum that hasn’t been spending all its weekends doing deadlifts in the gym. Here are some ways that you can achieve a big bum without exercising: (warning: they’re not easy or even possible in some cases!)

Genetics

We all inherit certain things from our genetic make-up, whether it be blue eyes, long eyelashes, big hips or, yes, a big bum! Some of us are simply more predisposed to having a larger derriere if the body shape dominant in our genetics is bottom-heavy (or what you might hear described as “pear-shaped.”)

If you happen to be genetically gifted with a large behind, you’ll probably know already. That being said, if you have larger hips, a smaller waist, and tend to gain weight in your lower body as opposed to your stomach or arms, you might also find it easier to gain weight in your bum – although this might mean having a heavier frame overall. Put simply, genetics is a bit of a lottery: either you have the winning numbers for a big booty, or you got lucky elsewhere.

Plastic Surgery

We all know that plastic surgery is especially common nowadays, especially in online, influencer spheres. The most common type of plastic surgery for the bum today is what is known as a BBL – a Brazilian Butt Lift – and involves inserting fat from other parts of the body (such as the stomach) into the buttocks. This procedure aims to give a fuller, plump look to the buttocks and a natural, soft texture (as opposed to the firm, unnatural look of silicone bum implants.) This pro is medically referred to as “gluteal fat grafting,” but referred to colloquially as a BBL.

However, undergoing a BBL is incredibly dangerous and we don’t advise this here at House of Peach. Plastic surgery is always dangerous no matter the procedure, but BBLs are particularly dangerous, to the point where they’ve been actively discouraged as a surgical procedure! Brazilian Butt Lifts are known to carry the highest mortality rate of any cosmetic procedure: around 1-2 people for every 50,000 butt lifts will die of the procedure. A study in 2017 even indicated that this number may be even higher, as a survey of plastic surgeons found that 3% reported a patient death following the procedure.

Other risks of undergoing a BBL butt lift include:

  • Pulmonary embolism, caused by the added fat causing a potential blockage in the body’s blood vessels. Pulmonary Embolisms can be fatal.
  • Cellulitis (a skin disorder caused by a deep skin infection and characterised by red, inflamed, swollen skin.)
  • Irregular finished look (such as lumps and deformities) if the appropriate aftercare is not taken.

With all these risks taken into consideration, is a BBL worth it? We don’t think so, especially when there are other, safe ways to enhance your bum and feel great about your body and your booty.

So, can you get a big bum without exercising, genetics, or dangerous surgery?

If you still want to achieve a fuller bum without the risks of surgery or the time investment of exercise, there are a number of things you can do to give your backside the appearance of being fuller. While these tips won’t change your bum itself, they’ll give you a confidence boost and give your booty a little pop!

Scrunch bum leggings

If you were on TikTok for any part of 2021, you’ll know that “tik tok leggings” became something of a viral phenomenon. Why? Tik tok leggings – also known as “textured scrunch bum leggings” – use a dual-layer fabric which clings to the buttocks while adding the appearance of volume to the bum. Tik-tokkers went viral testing out these leggings and being in awe of the results – if you don’t want to exercise for a big bum, grab yourself a pair of these scrunch bum leggings here at House of Peach.

High Waisted Leggings

If you want a quick, fail-safe way to give your bum a boost and streamline your physique at the same time, invest in a pair of high-waisted leggings! High waisted leggings bring in your waist, flatten your stomach, and cling to your bum, making it stand out and grab attention. We recommend a pair of light-coloured high waisted leggings if you want to create volume – darker colours are better for slimming.

Bum Lifters

If you want to give the impression of a fuller bum without having to always wear leggings, you can wear a pair of bum lifters! These can be slipped on under any dress, jean, skirt, or trouser, and will give your bum more volume and shape.

Peach Verdict: Why exercise is great for getting a big bum

Okay, so we know that you’re not looking for exercise advice. But, at House of Peach, we truly do believe in the power of harnessing your own body to improve your body: no surgery, no pills, no dangerous BBLS. Exercise is truly the best way to give yourself the bum you deserve – not only will it look great naked (bum pads can’t help here) but it will last longer, and the exercise will improve your overall health and fitness.
