Does Avocado Make Your Booty Bigger? 🤔

If you’re on a butt-building journey, you’ve probably been trying to adapt your diet to speed up your progress. You might also have heard that incorporating good fats into your diet can help increase your gains; in particular, healthy fats such as avocado.

does avocado make bum bigger?

So, does avocado make your booty bigger? Yes and no. Let’s take a look at why healthy fats can increase your gains, what they can’t do, and how to include them in your diet.

What is avocado?

Avocado is a green fruit (yes, really) native to the Americas, with textured dark skin and a soft, green fleshy interior. You’ve probably already had some on toast, or incorporated them into a creamy smoothie.

Benefits of eating avocado

Because it contains high levels of monounsaturated fat, avocado is actually a really great way to incorporate “good” fats into your diet, which can actually help you shed pounds and stay slim. Eating avocado regularly can also offer the following health and wellness benefits:

Lowers cholesterol

Avocado is high in oleic acid and linoleic acid, which have both been proven to help manage and stabilise cholesterol levels in the body.

Keeps off extra weight

Studies have found that people who ate an avocado every day reported healthier weight levels than those who didn’t. While this may be due to many factors, it could also be due to the fact that avocados (and other healthy fats in general) make you feel fuller faster, so you won’t feel the need to overindulge after eating.

Enhances eye health

Studies have also shown that avocado is rich in carotenes lutein and zeaxanthin, as well as Vitamin C, all of which aid eye health.

Vitamin-packed

Avocados are rich in a diverse variety of vitamins, including Vitamin B6, Vitamin E and Vitamin C. They’re also rich in Omega 3s, which aid in keeping your skin glowing, your hair healthy, and your nails shiny. It’s also packed with antioxidants that can help prevent oxidative damage in the body (and skin) from free radicals.

Controls blood sugar

Studies have also found that regular consumption of avocado can help control blood sugar, while reducing inflammation in the body. Avocado is also good for heart health, kidney health, and can even help in your body’s absorption of nutrients.

Good for digestion

If you’re eating a diet rich in fruits, veggies and vitamins, you might find that you’re popping to loo more frequently (especially if your diet is new). Incorporating avocados into your diet is a great way to help promote healthy digestive and good overall gut health.

Does avocado make your booty bigger?

The short answer? No. This is because there actually isn’t any food that exclusively makes your bum bigger – you can’t spot-reduce nor spot-increase fat on your body (if we could, plastic surgery and BBLs wouldn’t exist). A better question to ask would be “will avocado make me gain weight?” in which case, the answer is slightly more complex.

When it comes to weight loss and weight gain, many people don’t understand that it’s simply a question of calories in vs. calories out. What that means is, if you eat less than what you’re burning off each day, you’re going to lose weight, no matter what you eat.

Technically, someone who eats McDonalds for every meal, but capped their food intake at a maximum of 1200 calories per day, would lose weight. Would it be healthy? No. Would the weight loss be sustainable? No. But given that the recommended caloric intake for a woman is 2000 calories, you’d probably shed some pounds. Please note: I do NOT recommend this. The weight loss wouldn’t be sustainable, and your skin, wellbeing, and energy levels would all suffer as a result.

However, the point I’m trying to make is simple; the idea of “weight loss” foods is simply a marketing myth: what counts is calories in, and calories out (aka, calories burned).

So, how can avocados help my gains?

Alongside being a source of healthy fats, avocados are also a source of protein, which you’ll need in your diet if you’re trying to maximise your booty gains. They’re also pretty high in calories when it comes to fruit (around 200-300 calories, depending on the size) so they’re a great way to bulk up a smoothie or a classic eggs-on-toast combo.

They’re also a great way to shed the pounds if you’re actually looking to lose weight, rather than put it on. Avocados can help you feel fuller quicker and for longer, so you won’t be tempted to pop back into the freezer after finishing your evening meal or lunch.

I want to eat avocado but I hate the taste…help!

While the taste of avocado is actually incredibly mild, the taste is quite particular, and many find the fleshy, soft texture unpleasant. If you’re one of these people, you can easily overcome this by glamming up your avocado with some spices, by incorporating it into another meal, or putting it into a smoothie.

Adding some paprika, red chilli flakes, salt, pepper, and garlic granules can make the taste of avocado more bearable. And don’t worry – if you add it into a smoothie, you most likely won’t taste it all. If you make sure to cover up the taste with other fruits, the only difference it’ll make to your smoothie is via its texture; it’ll be thicker and creamier (and slightly higher in calories.)
